Multicultural Sounds promotes the cultural values and traditional sound of the region while facilitating the creation of new music, embodying the true essence of collaborative arts presenting and education. MCS is collaboratively envisioned, commissioned and presented by Lyrica Baroque and Palacios House of Arts. The musical event featured Latin American artists and composers performing newly commissioned works, student compositions and side-by-side performances of students and professional musicians.
Collaborating with Lyrica Baroque and Palacios House of Arts on this project was a rewarding experience. By weaving cultural authenticity into the design, I sought to amplify the event’s essence: celebrating collaboration, creativity, and the enduring power of music to bring communities together.

The Inspo
For the branding of Multicultural Sounds, I focused on its mission to celebrate Afro-Latin American, Spanish, and Creole musical traditions. I wanted a visual identity that honored these cultures while highlighting the event's collaborative and educational spirit.
The design features vibrant floral and musical motifs that represent the connection between nature and sound, blending traditional music roots with a modern twist. The geometric background patterns served as a metaphor for the dynamic and interconnected nature of the performances, where artists and students came together to create something truly unique. The typography combines Ironmonger’s rustic style with Norwester’s modern look, bridging traditional and contemporary elements, connecting to how the event connects the past with the present through music.
The color palette of rich corals, teal blues, and golden yellows evokes warmth and reflects the diverse cultural heritage of the event, aligning with the branding of Palacios House of Arts and Lyrica Baroque.
The branding extended across multiple touchpoints, including newsletters, social media graphics, and a poster design.
